Gustavo Dudamel and the Berliner Philharmoniker perform Mahler’s Symphony No.1

Gustavo Dudamel is famous for his exuberant energy and in this 2015 concert conducts the Berliner Philharmoniker with the full force of his youthful spirit – perfectly in tune with the character of Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony, on which the Austrian composer began work when only in his mid‑20s. Initially inspired by a wealth of literary and artistic ideas and borrowing themes from some of his early songs, it marks a powerful start to his career as a symphonist.
